Gyrating Friday XIV…Comfortably Numb at week’s end

Aawwww…Pink Floyd, one of the pinnacles of musical greats – listening to any one of their tunes transcends me nearly out-of-body!

Enjoy the following mini concert of David Gilmour, phenomenal as always, with Roger Waters live during The Wall tour, in 2011 at the 02 Arena, London.

I find comfort seeing these artists, ones I’ve been a fan of for decades, aging gracefully – yet they’ve still “got it” (especially David Gilmour with vocals and guitar playing as strong as ever).

Legendary…

Happy Friday to you!!!

Wrong Turn?

Laughing Gull in clover

I was looking for the beach…but this clover will suffice.”

This Laughing Gull made me chuckle as I was editing photos this past weekend.
He looks a little displaced, don’t you think?

Frittata Saves Woman’s Sanity!

Eggs

I spent 4 hours toting my elderly folks around to various doctor appointments and such Monday afternoon, argh! At one point, I did manage to drag them into a local frozen yogurt joint and we really had a blast – they were like two little kids! It was funny observing their protests turn to glee with one bite of simple frozen dairy and some toppings.

So by the time I made it back home, it was dinner time. Normally I relish cooking and creating – not today, my you-know-what was dragging and I simply could not channel Julia Child! Continue reading

Gyrating Friday XIII…One Wish

For just a few minutes…put aside your political leanings, put aside your religious beliefs, put aside preconceived notions, judgements, biases and just watch this video. See the people – who, just like ourselves are concerned with safety, health, winning the lottery, finding true love, or our ever-expanding waistlines.

Yes, there are the few in this short film that will bring up the hot buttons of politics and religion; just like some of our own hometown locals would, if asked the same question. Overall, however, the “wishes” are just like yours and mine.

We all need to realize we’re all so very similar…with the same wants and desires regardless of our global address. I would love to see this video become a series with the same question proposed in different areas around the world.

Peace, often wished for in this film…will it ever be realized before we completely destroy ourselves and this wonderful planet we call home?

Happy Friday to everyone!

He spent several minutes attempting to chew off the loose skin from his feet.

A few days later I spied him (or one of his kin) on my house siding, all bright and green.

Why, oh why, oh why???!!!!! This is the LAST thing that we women want to see in the news when we’re trying to get our husbands to eat healthy!!!
AAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
I seriously don’t think that fried pork has anything to do with her longevity…how about her awesome gene pool?

Homemade Pizza?!…Yes, please!

Pizza

Homemade, warm from the oven pizza is soooooo good and satisfying, especially if you’ve made it yourself! It’s taken me several months, countless recipes and dozens of trials to find a recipe that consistently produces a tasty pizza with a good crust that is neither cracker thin nor too doughy. “Make Good Art”…excellent advice

sketchbook

Once upon a time, I was creative. I enjoyed writing poetry and essays. Various sketches lined my walls. Photography class in college ignited me. Work as a stone artisan was challenging and inspiring. My artistic alter ego and I were happy and content.

Then, life and responsibility took over. New motherhood, exhaustion and a “normal” desk job seemingly left little time for me to spend with my creative counterpart. Despondent, my alter ego left me and shut herself away for a number of years. She would emerge here and there when I was crafting with the kids. She’d appear briefly when I was picking out paint colors for the house. She tried in vain to remind me that I was once artsy and eclectic. I continually ignored her and went about my daily hectic routine. Continue reading

A Riot of Irises…and one lucky moth

Luna Moth

Luckily, my daughter spied and then gently relocated the above Luna moth from her boyfriend’s truck tire before they drove off!

These lovely photographs were taken by my daughter…with her I-Phone! I was planning on upgrading my camera; now I’m wondering if I should be upgrading my mobile phone instead.

Enjoy a wonderful and safe weekend!
